Causes of Under-5 Mortality in Ghana
Pneumonia and malaria are two of the leading causes of Under-5 Childhood deaths in Ghana.
Where Sickle Cell Disease Comes In
50-80% of mortalities in the under-5 population occurs in children who are particularly susceptible to infections like pneumonia and malaria because they have Sickle Cell Disease.

We are a group of young people seeking to gradually efface Sickle Cell Disease through awareness creation
How We Do This
It's a three-way street
Raising awareness
The core of our work lies in awareness creation through youth-focused educational talks, art and street campaigns. We educate young unmarried people on SCD inheritance patterns
Screening Exercises
We bring screening for the Sickle Cell Trait to you, at no cost at all or at a highly subsidized fee when necessary. Its the only way you can Know Your Genotype.
Counselling of carriers
We underline the role that knowledge of carrying a Sickle Cell Trait can play in birthing children with Sickle Cell Disease and the influence that carriers have on preventing the disease.
